| Customer: | International Customer, engaged in the manufacture of Paracetamol. |
| Conventional Process: | In this reaction, hydrolysis of PNCB to Sodium Phenolate is done with 98% Sulphuric acid to yield product Golden yellow p-Nitrophenol. The acidic effluent generated during the isolation contains salt impurities, 2% product and 3-5% Sulphuric acid. On a commercial scale, this mother liquor doesn’t have any application. Therefore it is drained to an effluent treatment plant after primary and secondary treatment. |
| Newreka Solutions: | Our team developed a hydrolysis technology of PNCB to Sodium phenolate where the alkaline mother liquor generated after isolation of product can be recycled in consecutive batches with same efficiency. The product obtained in the recycling of alkaline mother liquor is consistent with the quality specifications of those available commercially and deliver enhanced performance in the post hydrolysis process. As such there is no Solid or Liquid effluent and the yield is enhanced by 10% as compared to the conventional process. The byproduct obtained, Sodium Chloride, has secondary commercial applications. This technology has strengthened three pillars of industry i.e. Economics, Environment & Safety. |
