| Customer: | International Customer is engaged in the manufacture of Paracetamol. |
| Conventional Process: | In this reaction hydrolysis of PNCB to Sodium Phenolate is done with 98% Sulphuric acid to yield product Golden yellow p-Nitrophenol. The acidic effluent generated during the isolation contains salt impurities, 2% product and 3-5% Sulphuric acid. On a commercial scale, this mother liquor doesn’t have any application. Therefore it is drained to an effluent treatment plant after primary and secondary treatment. |
| Newreka Solutions: | Our team studied the chemistry of this process and devised the acidic mother liquor recycle technology. With the technology, the acidic mother liquor can be recycled in acidification of consecutive batches with same efficiency with reducing the use of Sulphuric acid. The mother liquor yield of product p-nitrophenol is increased by 5% as compared to conventional process. The byproduct White Sodium Sulphate salt generated has secondary commercial application. In Newreka Recycle solution there is no Solid or Liquid effluent as such and this is a zero effluent technology. This technology has strengthened three pillars of industry i.e. Economics, Environment & Safety. |
